We have created our own definition of a "successful classroom":

Student Centered
Students do not simply want to come into the classroom, they want to be involved in the lessons, the design, and the upkeep of the room. An engaging environment elicits curiosity, and learning takes place when the kids interact with their environment.

Reaching Reluctant Learners
Students who have always shown a resistance towards your subject will have increased curiosity. By getting rid of the traditionally decorated classroom, students feel a part of something much bigger than the subject itself. Engagement, performance, and comprehension increase.
